Gangadhar Meher University Overview

Gangadhar Meher University

Established in 1944 as Sambalpur College, Gangadhar Meher University was renamed after the renowned Oriya poet in 1949. In 2015, it acquired the status of a university and changed its name to Gangadhar Meher University.

This institution's autonomy was increased by the UGC based on its scholarly standing, responsive administrative structure, and high standard of institutional administration. In addition, the UGC designated the college as a "College with potential for excellence (CPE)" for the 2004–05 academic year. The school gained additional recognition for its outstanding performance when it received a "A" accreditation from the NAAC for the 2015–16 session.

The University provides undergraduate, graduate, and research-level courses in a variety of science, arts, and commerce fields under both traditional and self-financing categories. In order to give students more options, it also offers professional courses in computer science, BBA, MCA, BCA, MBA, B.Ed., and computer science.

All course admissions are determined by merit. The applicant's OJEE entrance exam score, which is followed by OJEE counseling, will determine their MBA (offline) selection. The MBA in Financial Management program accepts applications online, and candidates are chosen based on both their entrance exam marks and career marks.
